Ruben has a pure mathematics background in algebraic topology, although he currently works in the interface between pure and applied mathematics, particularly in network modelling and analysis, and applied topology.

Biography
Ruben did an undergraduate degree in Mathematics at the Universidad de Málaga (Spain), then a PhD at the TV (UK). He held postdoctoral positions at the University of Sheffield (UK) and Düsseldorf (Germany).
