Foundation year entry requirements

International Foundation Year (progressing to undergraduate degree in management, humanities, arts and social sciences) 433 for HKDSE Form 6, excluding liberal studies and Chinese
Engineering Foundation Year (progressing to undergraduate courses in engineering, physics, computer science and geophysics) 544 for HKDSE Form 6, without extended maths module
Science Foundation Year (progressing to undergraduate courses in biology, chemistry and other science-related courses)

544 for HKDSE Form 6

Please note that this course does not progress to an undergraduate degree in medicine.

Undergraduate entry requirements

To be considered forÌýa place onÌýone of our undergraduate (bachelors) degrees, you will need:

HKDSE: 554/5*55 depending on subjects
Engineering programmes require a 5 in maths (with extended modules) and/or physics
ScienceÌýprogrammes require a 5 in maths and a science subject

International Baccalaureate (IB): Between 28 and 38 points
Associate degrees will be considered for first or second year entry to the University's bachelors degree programmes

Postgraduate entry requirements

MastersÌýprogrammes Bachelors degree with a minimum GPA of 2.8 out of 4.0
UK 1st equivalent: 3.5
UK 2.1 equivalent: 2.8
PhD programmes Good grades in bachelors and masters degrees awarded by a recognised university,Ìýand a strong research proposal
UK 1st equivalent: 3.5
UK 2.1 equivalent: 2.8

English language entry requirements

You will need to be able toÌýdemonstrateÌýthe requiredÌýlevel of English language proficiency.ÌýWe accept HKDSE Grade 4 as equivalent to IELTS 6.5.ÌýFind out more about our English language requirements and support .
