Abstract: I will review the special features of compact binary coalescences with a small mass ratio and a high intrisic spin. I will discuss their likelyhood from astrophysics sources, present the smoking gun signatures of their gravitational waveforms and derive several of their specific mathematical features related to conformal symmetry. In the second part of the talk, I will review the so-called “BMS" flux-balance laws of gravitational radiation within general relativity, discuss their relationship to the displacement, spin and center-of-mass memory effects. I will finally compare the expansion of these laws within the post-Minkowskian formalism with the literature.
