Project overview
Round 5 UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship award:
The objective of this research programme is the development of photonic artificial synapses based on high-speed photodetectors and multi-level memristors performing neuromorphic functions for in-memory computing and artificial visual memory applications. Its uniqueness lies in the combinatorial use of coplanar nanogap flexible electrodes, designed to match the real dimensions of biological neurons, fabricated with a reliable manufacturing technique (adhesion lithography), and advanced materials from the perovskite and polyoxometalate families.
