The aim of this project is to explore data-driven methods to analyse air quality monitoring data acquired at a range of locations across Hampshire. This data has been collected over the past 12 months using a variety of air quality sensors by local councils.ÌýAlthough air quality is recognized to be important for health and wellbeing, we have found that it is difficult for local authorities to access reliable data to make informed decisions. This project will lay a foundation for new ways of revealing insights from sparse multi-fidelity air pollution data. We look forward to working with the Public Policy team, the Sustainability and Resilience Institute, and Clean Air South to help translate this research into policy-relevant communications.
It was very useful to talk with the Public Policy team before applying to understand how my ideas could fit in with existing work and benefit from the team's skills and connections.
I look forward to developing the impact from my research and strengthening our relationship with the local councils.
