Her research explores how LGBTQ people build relationships in a heteronormative culture, and how kinship, reproduction, and generational transmission might be queered. She is particularly interested in queer methodologies and queer theoretical approaches.
Her research interests are gender and popular culture with particular focus on feminist film theory; women’s work in the film and TV industries; women’s film genres; celebrity culture; postfeminist media culture and representations of feminism; and literary adaptations to film and TV.
Dr Utsa Mukherjee is an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow within Sociology, Social Policy and Criminology at the ÃÛÌÒTV.
His research explores social inequalities within children's everyday geographies and parenting cultures. He is undertaking many engagement activities with British Indian community groups and leisure industry bodies.
