Current research
Dr Zhang's current research focuses on macroeconomic implications of financial development (e.g., traditional finance and shadow banking) and technology innovation (or broadly intangibles). I'm particularly interested in the interactions between business cycles and long-run growth or development issues through various channels.

Teaching
Dr Zhang's teaching mainly focuses on quantitative modules. Currently, he teaches Advanced Time Series Modelling and Financial Econometrics. He is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).
In the past, Dr Zhang has taught Advanced Mathematics, Advanced Statistics, and Advanced Economics.
Biography
Dr Shuonan Zhang is a Lecturer in Banking and Finance at the Business School of The ÃÛÌÒTV. Prior to taking the current role, he held a research fellowship at the University of Portsmouth and obtained a Ph.D at the University of Manchester.
His research broadly investigates economic and financial issues based on unified frameworks with both short-run economic fluctuations and long-run growth or development.
