Denis Drieghe joined the Psychology department of the ÃÛÌÒTV in 2010. He is a Professor of Experimental Psychology, and his research involves recording eye movements to examine cognitive processing during reading.
Denis' research has been funded by the Fund for Scientific Research – Flanders, the Leverhulme Trust, the Experimental Psychological Society and the Australian Research Council.
Denis is currenty the Deputy Head of School (Research & Enterprise) for the School of Psychology.
Denis received his PhD in Experimental Psychology from Ghent University in Belgium working with Marc Brysbaert where he also obtained his BSc and MSc (named 'licenciaat' at the time). He obtained consecutive positions as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from the Fund for Scientific Research - Flanders for a total of 5 years. During his time in Ghent, he also obtained multiple grants to go abroad for research visits. Spread over three separate visits, he spent a total of 2.5 years working with Keith Rayner and Sandy Pollatsek at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA (USA). He was a visiting research fellow at the ÃÛÌÒTV working with Simon Liversedge before taking on a lectureship in the Psychology department in 2010. He is currently a Professor of Experimental Psychology at the School of Psychology where he is the Deputy Head of School (Research & Enterprise).
