ÃÛÌÒTV Maths Challenge
Every year we run the Mathematics Challenge for schoolchildren in Year 10 or below. Take part with as many as 1700 other students!
We are involved in a wide range of outreach activities for schools, pupils, and the general public. These include lectures at schools, competitions, and a number of annual events designed to increase engagement with and enjoyment of mathematics.
Thousands of schoolchildrenÌýtake part in our annual code-breaking competition.
Public Lectures
Our speakers have included Nobel laureates Roger Penrose and Rainer Weiss and Fields medalist Martin Hairer.
Lectures in Schools
We are happy to visit schools and colleges to talk about interesting mathematical topics and careers in mathematics.
We take part in the university's annual, award-winning science festival. Join us digitally during British Science Week or in person on 7th May 2022.
STAG Research Centre
We run a variety of outreach programmes as part of the Southampton Theory Astrophysics and Gravity Research Centre.
We run one-day events for Year 12 girls interested in studying maths or related subjects at university
