All University staffÌýhaveÌýa contractual sick pay allowance which means they're entitled to receive their full pay in accordance with the relevant policy, if they areÌýoff work due to illness or injury. TheÌýnumber of weeks of contractual sick pay an employee is entitled toÌývaries depending on their grade, length of service,ÌýandÌýhow much sick pay they have previously received in the last 12 months. Contractual sick pay incorporatesÌýany entitlement toÌýStatutory Sick Pay. Please see the policy documents further down the page for more information.

Important:

To ensure sick pay is calculated correctly the following must happen:

• Staff must , as close to the absence period as possible. If staff are unable to do this, their line manager .
• If a continuous absence needs to be extended, the staff member's line manager rather than add a new absence.
