We have long had research and education connections with NMU, particularly in Environmental and Life Science. We supported NMU in the establishment of their Ocean Sciences Campus and have had a joint research chair in marine food security appointed since 2016, the first jointly funded Newton-National Research Foundation chair. We have had good mobility of students and early career researchers including in marine species migration and the impact of invasive species on ecosystems and aquaculture.
