Short overview of the seminar
Dr. Jiangjun Wan, received his PhD in Human geography and postdoctoral degree in management from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2018. He is currently working at the College of Architecture and Urban-Rural Planning of Sichuan Agricultural University in China, and now he is the Director of the Center for Scientific Research Management of the College. Dr. Wan's main research interests cover the following two areas: 1. Perception, behaviour and environmental space planning; 2. Sustainable development of regional ecological environment and social economy. He has carried out several research projects in the above fields, and his research results have been published in Science of the Total Environment, Ecological Indicators, Chinese Geographic Science and other journals. His research findings on the participation of urban residents in the governance and construction of park cities have been reported by some local Chinese news and some suggestions were adopted by the local government.
Dr. Wan's research mainly refers to the multi-disciplinary theories of geography, environmental psychology, sociology and urban and rural planning. In the early stage, the research methods were mainly completed by in-depth interviews, questionnaires and geospatial data collection. In the recent period, the research methods of PPGIS and small-scale experiments were also adopted in his research. Dr. Wan will introduce some of his recent research developments, hoping to provide some ideas for interdisciplinary research.
