The Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP) provides opportunities for academic professional development across the Triple Helix (education, research and KEE) for all staff and PGRs across the University. We are also responsible for actions within the Strategic Plans for People, Education, Research, and Knowledge Exchange and Enterprise, as well as contributing to Transnational Education (TNE) and University Charters.

What we do:

The CHEP team has a range of academic backgrounds and expertise in education, research, KEE and evaluation.

We work in partnership with senior stakeholders, faculty champions, students and many subject matter experts from Faculties and Professional Services to co-design and deliver a wide range of professional learning activities, ranging from formal courses and programmes, throughfaculty-based workshopsand networks, to the production of resources and the sharing of good practice. Our aim is to ensure that all professional learning activities are provided in meaningful and contextualised formats, addressing the needs of diverse groups and individuals.

CHEP’s strategic portfolio is overseen by Bobbi Moore (Education) and Prof. Francesco Shankar (Research & KEE).

This approach is guided by four key commitments:
