With a great pleasure we will (virtually) host Professor Minhyong Kim speaking about "Principal Bundles in Diophantine Geometry".
Title: Principal Bundles in Diophantine Geometry
Abstract: Principal bundles and their moduli have seen a remarkable array of application in geometry and topology over the past 50 years or so. Their uses in number theory are perhaps less well known. This talk will give a brief introduction to arithmetic principal bundles with a focus on application to Diophantine geometry, the geometric study of rational or integral solutions to polynomial equations.
